July 9 - 13, 2018 at CIRM, Marseille, FRANCE

This workshop aims at bringing together specialists and young researchers from different mathematical backgrounds (modeling, numerical simulations and analysis) working in the fields of oncology and oncopharmacology. This meeting follows three previous workshops successfully organized in CIRM in 2009, 2011 and 2015. Bringing  the world of mathematicians, oncologists and biologists closer is  a  promising way of setting up interdisciplinary collaborations which have led to important progress  in the discipline of onco-mathematics in the last decade. Among other topics, we might develop:

• Evolution and cancer (atavistic theory and moving epigenetic landscape)
• Drug resistance
• Heterogeneity in cancer cell populations
• Upscaling models (from ODEs in single cells to structured PDEs in cell populations)
• Metabolism, stemness and epigenetic treatments
• Biomarkers, imagery; from single cell genetic/epigenetic measurements to distributed heterogeneity in cell population models
• From ABMs to PDEs
• Immunotherapies (immune checkpoint inhibitors, oncolytic viruses, engineered T-cells/macrophages, pathogen-based treatments, etc.)
• Motion of cancer cells, EMT, and motion of cohort-like (sheer epithelial) cell populations

Wednesday sessions will emphasize  clinical aspects from the physician point of view and promote some successful interdisciplinary collaborations. There will be especially an ITMO session, a poster session,...

There will be some funding available  to cover accommodation fees for a small number of participants (Double room at CIRM). Note that it will not cover neither registration fees nor travel expenses.  If you are interested, please send your CV and a justification letter to the organizing committee before February 28th, 2018.

If you wish to contribute an oral or poster presentation please send an abstract of one page max (in latex or docx) to the organizing committee before March 15th, 2018.
